Bio

Shakeema Prescott began dancing at the early age of three years old. By that age, she was able to learn and retain choreography taught by her mother and her aunt. As she got older she began traveling and competing with several dance companies. She danced and trained in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Hip Hop, Latin, Ballroom, Swing and African Dance. 

Shakeema has trained under professionals such as “So You Think You Can Dance” choreographer Shane Sparks, celebrity choreographer Laurieann Gibson, celebrity choreographer/performer Brandee Evans and many more. She also trained at Millennium Dance Complex in North Hollywood and performed in over 100 shows and competitions. 

Shakeema later went on to audition for the hit show “So You Think You Can Dance” making it to the second round as well as MTV’s “America’s Best Dance Crew.” She also appeared on the Ellen Degeneres show where she danced alongside celebrity choreographer “Twitch.” Her skills and talent have opened doors for multiple choreography opportunities as she continues to use her gift to showcase her talents to the world. 

In February 2017, Shakeema began her journey as a group fitness instructor when she earned her Zumba certification. She taught at several LA Fitness locations for two years. In 2019 she decided to start her own business putting her own spin on dance fitness. This is when she started Urge2dance  and her first class under the Urge2dance umbrella which is TwerKOut TKO. Her business has continued to grow over the past few years and she’s looking forward to continued growth and expanding Urge2dance.
